Events 2019 – The Business Network Connection
Launching a regular network event was something we had always hoped to achieve at Gold Coast Business Hub. Finally, in June this year, collaborating with Lori Bradley from The Local Business Network Southport the monthly ‘Business Network Connection’ was launched.
As director of The Local Business Network Southport, Lori helps promote businesses with an online business feature, gets local business owners together into events that focus on solving everyday business problems and works with individual business owners to deliver their ideal business.
Our hard work and preparations paid off and on 16 May we held our first event with Kelsie Smith from VO Group as guest speaker. Kelsie gave an informative marketing presentation on the average customer’s lifecycle, with strategies for acquiring customers, right through to obtaining sale conversions and building customer loyalty. The evening was enjoyed by all who attended.
One event led to another and on 27 June we held our second event. This event took on a different format, using the Gold Coast Business Hub Boardroom as a more intimate venue, vs our larger, open collaboration area. Guest speaker, David Rudduck, a Cyber Security Specialist from Insane Technologies, captivated us with his presentation on some of the most prevalent cyber issues currently facing society. It was an informative evening and everyone left feeling well educated on cyber security and how to keep oneself safe from threat.
At the next monthly ‘Business Network Connection’ event we were fortunate to have Marco Renai from Men of Business presenting. Men of Business is a Gold Coast charity dedicated to providing a mentorship program to teenage boys. Marco spoke passionately about his work and shared some of his insights into mindset, motivation, and living a life of purpose.
Our most recent event focused on business legalities and was presented by guest speakers Nick Stone and Luke McKavanagh from Stone Group Lawyers. Luke and Nick discussed some of the common legal pitfalls’ businesses are exposed to.
Our business network events have proved to be informative, and enjoyable. They are a great opportunity for local business people to get together and share ideas.
